1967 Succeeded in the creation and industrialization of DBU, the world’s first organic super strong base.
1970 Developed the U-CAT SA Series (DBU salts). Market development began for the products as urethane catalysts and epoxy curing accelerators.
1986 Overseas parent company changes to Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., and our company name was altered to San-Apro.
1998 Investigations began regarding technologies and markets for new products to replace DBU. Photo acid generator developed.
2003 The CPI-100P and 101A photo acid generators (for photocationic polymerization initiations) were introduced to the market. Efforts began to introduce these products to the can paint and optical modeling resin markets.
2007 The high-activity non-Sb CPI-200K product was developed and efforts began to introduce it into the marketplace.
2010 The highly i-line sensitive CPI-300 series was developed and entered the electronic materials market.

Since we entered a new era called 'Reiwa',which means 'people living peacefully in a beautiful and superior era,' the present world continues to change at a dizzying speed.

In the latter half of the Heisei era, major disasters such as the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred, but even after overcoming these natural disasters and entering the Reiwa era with hope for the future, the coronavirus pandemic, wars in various parts of the world continued, and even in Japan, heavy rains and the earthquake in Noto Peninsula occurred. We can say the world continues to be in chaos in many ways.

The entire chemical industry is entering a period of change because of soaring raw material prices due to the effects of the war and increased development speed.

At this point, we are required to return to our roots once again, hone our technology, and work on fine chemicals that meet the needs of our customers.

We believe that this is not something we can do alone, but because our customers = partners can co-create it. By thinking together with our customers, we are able to customize our products to meet their individual needs and create products that are useful for a wide variety of purposes.

Our products such as photoacid generators are indispensable for high technology industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, but there is a need for further miniaturization and higher purity in the future. This will lead to the miniaturization and power saving of various products, which will lead to energy conservation and environmental protection. While looking to the future of the earth, we accurately grasp the needs of our customers and create high value and indispensable materials in modern society.

We believe that this is our mission.

UX
We are a company that provides special catalysts by making full use of organic synthesis technology. To meet the needs of our customers, the UX (User Experience) Promotion Department has the motto of "thinking together" with our customers. And we aim to provide unique products by proposing products and acting as an intermediary with our development team.
Our company is characterized by being a "fabless company" that does not have its own production factory. Our strength is that we are able to flexibly select processes and manufacturing sizes that are appropriate for the products we provide, without being limited by the only way of manufacturing processes to fixed equipment.

San-Apro has a lineup of several types of catalysts for photoacid generators, thermal base generators, and thermal acid generators, which are used in a wide variety of applications such as semiconductor-related materials, displays, stereolithography materials such as 3D printers, and urethane materials.

On the other hand, we are constantly searching for new purposes because we consider our products could be more useful in wider situations. We post the details of our products and technical information on our website, and we hope to contribute to new "awareness" for our customers.

If you have any problems to improve your product, please feel free to contact us. Our staff with specialized knowledge will assist you.
“Thinking together, San-Apro.” Thank you very much for your support.

R&D
In 1966, San-Apro industrialized the organic super-strong base DBU® for the first time in the world, and developed its applications such as urethanization catalysts and epoxy curing accelerators as well as manufacturing intermediates for pharmaceutical raw materials. We have contributed to the development of a wide range of fields as a "special catalyst manufacturer". We have added a new product lineup of photo acid generators (PAG) since 2000, and are expanding our business domain in from heat to light triggered fields.
Based on the seeds of super-strong bases and super-strong acids, we have flexibly responded to changes of the times with a policy of customization based on customer needs. Our foundation (tradition) is a spitiy of "Try It First."
Recently, with the spread of remote work due to the new corona infection, we assume that IoT will further develop. In the future, in order to develop products that respond to various changes, not only the in-company organization but also customers, suppliers, production contractors, university, and specialized institutions, etc. will work together with the challenge spirit of "Try It First". We want to propose new value (product) without fear of failure.
