In search of dreams
In 2021, the world was unable to escape the disaster of the (global) COVID-19 pandemic. In Japan, the number of infected people has dropped sharply since November, and the food service industry and travel industry are showing signs of revival, but with the discovery of new mutant strains, the situation is still unpredictable. Under such circumstances, telework is becoming more and more popular to prevent infection. One of the issues that came up while advancing telework was the desire to make it easier to digitize documents, remote jobs, and perform virtual communication online. These issues have been solved by various software and hardware, but I think that if we try to promote full-scale efficiency improvement on a larger scale, it will lead to so-called DX in the future.
A digital transformed society is a society in which various activities are made more efficient and convenient by using the power of digital, and are revitalized. I hope that the society will allow humans to focus on human-like activities. And in order to achieve that, I think we need new technologies to support it. In other words, the exchange of huge amounts of data that support the DX society, and the hardware and software that process it. Are they enough resources on hand? Perhaps there will be a need to process unimaginable amounts of data fast and accurately. I am convinced that various innovations will be required for that.
Currently, San-Apro is developing and promoting photo acid generators (PAGs). These PAGs are mainly used in semiconductor manufacturing and microfabrication, but I would like to introduce them for innovation support in a coming era. I believe that the future mission of San-Apro is to create, customize, produce, and supply compounds that meet the front-line user needs to enable dramatic innovation.
December 2021
Satoshi “Sammy” Sugawara
