VC-1S

i-line Highly sensitive sulfonium salt type photoacid generator. A grade for transparent applications that suppresses the absorption of visible light (g-line, h-line) and has a large absorption only for i line. Since it uses a special anion, it has the same acid strength as the HSbF6 anion product even though it is non-Sb-based, and exhibits high cationically polymerizable properties.  In addition, it has excellent solubility in various solvents and monomers including non-polar organic solvents.

Q&A

What is the absorption wavelength?
The i-line (365 nm) has a large absorption with a molar extinction coefficient of about 12,000 [M-1 cm-1], while the h-line (405 nm) and g-line (436 nm) have no absorption.
It is suitable for materials that require high transparency in the visible light range while increasing the photosensitivity to i-line.
What are the characteristics of the PF3(C2F5)3 anion?
Although it is a non-Sb type, it has an acid strength equivalent to that of HSbF6 and exhibits high cationically polymerizable properties. In addition, the acid generator with this anion has excellent solubility in various solvents and monomers including non-polar organic solvents.
Are there types with different generated acids?
We have various development results. If you have an anion that you are interested in, please feel free to contact us.
How much should I add?
Add about 0.5 to 2 wt% to the resin, depending on the application and film thickness.
What film thickness is suitable?
Although it depends on the application and the amount of addition, a thin film of 10 μm or less, which is less affected by the transmittance, is suitable.
In the case of a thick film of 100 μm or more, the type with a small molar extinction coefficient (CPI-100, 200 series, etc.) has high light transmittance in the depth direction and can generate acid to the deep part. The CPI-300 series is suitable for medium film thicknesses of about 50 μm.
