It is an organic compound that shows extremely strong basicity. It has excellent compatibility with various solvents and is useful as a catalyst for many organic synthesis reactions. Compared with the conventional tertiary amine or inorganic basic catalyst, the reaction yield and selectivity can be improved under milder conditions. It is also used as a catalyst for various polymerization or cross-linking reactions.
